Baby It's Cold Outside

Bringing a new meaning to the term "winter whites."

Lately it's been so cold outside, I feel like I'm living in the Arctic Tundra. So this weekend I happily turned my alarms off and substituted my gloves and earmuffs for much needed quality time burrito-ing myself in my blankets. I've got my sketchbooks, scramble with friends, and a whole season of project runway to catch up on.

The Getty

After lunch, Luke and I rushed off to The Getty Museum. Unfortunately, I incorrectly recalled their hours and consequently we got there 20 minutes before they closed. We were able to see the Florence exhibit which was so great. But as beautiful as the art was, I couldn't get over the museum itself. The architecture and the views it provided were breath taking. I definitely have to go back when I have the chance and spend devote an entire day to properly exploring the museum.

Urban Lights

We ended a very long day on Wilshire surrounded by 202 street lamps. Standing smack dab in the middle looking up at the lights made me feel like it was at home looking up at the stars. Really big, really bright, really close stars. Okay, maybe it wasn't quite the same but that's what LA is all about -- finding the bigger and better things in life.

Seaside

Dana Beach, California

I've said it before, I'll say it again, and the following statement will ring true for as long as I live: I love the ocean. I feel the most like myself when I'm around it, I feel at my best when I'm around it. It has this transformative property that I can't explain.

Although staying true to it's form, it is always moving, ever changing, constantly traveling from shore to shore. I could sit by the shore all day, trying to imagine all the things it's learned and seen -- all the things I have yet to learn and see.

Disney Darlings

Spent a wonderful day at Disneyland and California Adventure. The merriment of new company and old memories sparked something in me and I was glowing the entire day. I couldn't stop smiling and now I am competently convinced: Disneyland is indeed the happiest place on earth.

New Beginnings

It's the start of yet another year, I am finding myself reminiscing and rating the decisions I've made the past twelve months. Good memories warrant smiles to myself, and the bad ones I create a list for. But personal growth doesn't happen over night. It happens through the culmination of individual lessons and experiences over a span of time.

I'm at a very weird place in my life, after this semester my life is going to be an open book and it both excites and terrifies me at the same time. I don't know where I'm going yet, but looking back in the future I'll want to remember and share where I've been. This is the a the chronicle of experiences on my journey into uncertainty.
